Post World War II Class photo.Here's another rare class photo that was shared to us by our regular old pictures contributor Mr. Jesus Leong whose family left the island city of Basilan more than 30 years ago; they used to own Basilan Merchandising and Grocery. Mr. Leong lives in Brazil. This picture was taken by the school’s tennis court. Notice the kind of building materials that were used during that period; in these contemporary times this is considered expensive and the choice of style for those who loves to have their house motif that is exquisitely Oriental. Why are Nilo Barandino and Auring Pena not in this picture??? The tall guy standing to the right is one of the Gregorio bros. and if I remember correctly a real trouble maker but okay. Classes were held in the annex you see in the background, with mother-of-pearl windows and thatch roofing. In these ecologically conscious times nipa roofing is IN, but mother-of-pearl windows are definitely OUT."
